Spelling Tests

Each book contains a set of Spelling Tests designed to be used throughout one year of Primary education. There is one test per school week, totalling 39 sets altogether per year. All words are carefully and creatively curated to cover all the spelling rules set by the national curriculum—and more.

The level of difficulty rises gradually: the higher the year group, the more words they will learn in a week. Both Primary and Advanced levels cover the same spelling rules, but the Advanced set is marginally more challenging and tests words than the Primary set at all ages.

At the end of each list of spellings, there’s more! We have included a short list of four L+ words. Choose one or two of them to finish off your weekly spelling test with a little random fun to round it off cheerfully.
